Our Customer-Focused Insulation Process
At MGT Insulation, our customer-focused insulation process is customized to your home or business and to your particular application. It always starts with your concerns and ends with our expert solutions.
Here are nine core steps that we integrate into every one of our custom insulation projects:
1. Complete Diagnostic Testing
Our highly trained technicians begin by using state-of-the-art blower door testing and thermal imaging to locate areas of energy savings for you.
2. Prepare Work Areas
We carefully protect your home, business, and belongings with thorough worksite preparation, including clean drop cloths, plastic, window jamb protectors, corner guards, and our state-of-the-art Air Scrubber filtration system.
3. Pinpoint and Seal Air Leaks
By using the blower door, we pinpoint leaks in your structure, we de-pressurize your home or business. This depressurization causes air to be forced through leaks from plumbing, heating, electrical, design penetrations and more. These leaks are called bypasses. MGT insulations experts then go to work on sealing all accessible bypasses with high-quality products.
4. Address Insulation Issues
Depending on the needs of your home or business, this could include venting your attic mechanicals, installing chutes or vents, adding insulation or completing another service. Whatever issues we address, you can be sure your MGT Insulation technicians have the expertise to do it right.
5. Place Markers and Certificates
We place state-regulated markers and insulation certificates inside the attic access door, so that your installed insulation can be visually verified. These markers identify the number of inches of insulation, and the certificates indicate the type of insulation and number of bags installed per UBC.
6. Complete Final Blower Door Testing
Readings from the bower door after your insulation project is complete are used to determine the reduction in air infiltration and bypass leakage. We can re-check the areas that we found to be leaking. Since these leaks are now sealed, it is possible to find more leaks because your structure has gotten “tighter.” This test reading determines if it is cost-effective to continue sealing your home or business now that it’s “tighter.”
7. Complete Health and Safety Testing
Our team at MGT insulation believes that Health & Safety Worst Case Scenario testing is a must . That’s’ why we test gas appliances to ensure there is no deadly carbon monoxide leaking into your home or business.
8. Clean Up Work Area
Our crews clean the work area with HEPA Filtered Vacuums to reduce allergens and help improve the indoor air quality.
9. Complete a Post-Inspection Walk-Through
To ensure that our job is complete, we walk with you through your home or business to inspect the work. During this time, we’ll answer any questions, get your stamp of approval, and have you complete our job satisfaction survey!
